What difference does bringing your lunch to school in a re-useable carrier or box, not using a paper napkin or plastic spoons and forks make? A LOT! We talk about carbon offsets and going green and saving the planet and we have at least two eco-warriors at our school who walk the walk. Gabriel only uses a thermos for his drinks and has a cloth napkin and a real fork. He has a rubberized bag to hold it all. Thomas has a lunch box that has mini non disposable containers in it and a real fork also. They leave a zero trash "footprint" every day. Congratulations to them and Mother Earth is happy too. Deadline for A's Game Ticket Purchase is Friday, May 16th
The Deadline to purchase your tickets to the Dads Club A's game and pre-game barbecue is Friday, May 16th. The game and parking lot barbecue is Sunday, June 8th. The barbecue begins at 11:30 AM and the game starts at 1:05 PM. Everyone is welcome at this Dads Club event. The attached ticket order form and payment can be turned in to the school office. Bike Day 2008 is coming!

Walk-a-thon 2008: "Take a big stride with Redwood Heights Pride!"
We're getting closer and closer to our goal! There are 2 more collection dates: May 16, and May 22. Thursday May 22, by noon, is the FINAL collection date to be considered for prizes. We will accept any and all money after that date, but it will not count toward prizes. We'll celebrate our success together (and announce prize-winning achievements!) at the assembly planned for June 2nd.
Scream, You Scream, We all Scream for Ice Cream! PTA Budget and Elections Thursday, May 15,
Please join us on Thursday, May 15th for an Ice Cream Social hosted by your PTA. The evening will include a brief membership meeting and plenty of the cold stuff with your favorite toppings. Bring the family for a relaxed evening, sweet treats and a chance to express your self creatively in appreciation of our RHS teachers. The fun begins at 7:00 p.m. and we hope to see you there!

The Dads Club holds its
monthly meeting this week, Tuesday evening in the Teachers' lunchroom. Everyone
is invited to attend. In addition to planning activities for the end of the
year, we will be electing officers for the 08-09 school year. Anyone interested
in helping out the club by being an officer next year should contact Rick Davis

or 482-5476) prior to the meeting. The jobs are President, VP-Communications,
VP-Events, Treasurer and Secretary. Hope to see you there. Pizza will be

SSC Meeting, Wednesday, May 21
You are welcome to join us at the ninth meeting of the year. All parents and community members are encouraged to participate in the School Site Council. The SSC develops and monitors the implementation of the Single Plan for Student Achievement, proposes expenditures and evaluates the results. We will be discussing elections for next year and making plans for greater parent involvement next year.
