Principal's Message2007-2008Dear Parents, Students and Staff,I wish to welcome all new and returning students, parents, staff and community members back to another school year. Redwood Heights is a place where the motto 'Childhood is a journey not a race' is carefully applied using developmentally appropriate practices to make education a joyous and thought provoking experience 2007-2008 will be a ground breaking year. Not only do we welcome two new teachers but we have added a portable to accommodate our largest entering kindergarten class ever. We are changing our lunch procedures to create more playing space, better access to equipment and less crowding. The 2007-2008 school year instructional focus will be to form professional learning communities that will involve all stake holders in creating learning and teaching environments that will serve all our children. I'm looking forward to a year of exploration and developmentally appropriate challenges where we all can work together to maximize our resources to improve the educational opportunities for all of our students. Our achievement is directly linked to the efforts of our teachers and to the support given to both students and staff by the parents and community at Redwood Heights. This school is unique in many ways, but the efforts of our parents and community are what make this school soar. In order to do this, the involvement of parents and community is crucial. I encourage all of you to explore the many different ways that you can contribute to the success of your student. All of you have my best wishes for the coming school year. Sincerely yours, Ann Kruze, Principal |
