Welcome to the Redwood Heights School
2009-2010 School Year!
Join the PTA!
What is the PTA? Why join the RHS PTA? The number one reason to join the Parent Teacher Association is to benefit your child. In doing so, you also help your school. But there are many other PTA advantages:
· Get Connected. There’s no better way to know what’s happening at RHS.
· Discover Great Resources. The PTA supports a wide variety of programs at the school.
· Tap into a Network. PTA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers. Share ideas, concerns and experiences. Discuss issues on your mind.
· Speak Up. Because the PTA is a forum for exchanging ideas, you are encouraged to make suggestions. The PTA can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at your child’s school.
· Improve the School. By getting involved you’ll help make positive changes. We play an important role in fundraising to provide the school with building improvements, enrichment programs, noontime supervision and social events.
· Boost Children’s Well-Being. The PTA focuses on what students need to be successful in their learning. Whether the issue is school safety, physical fitness or healthy lunches, the PTA works with school administrators to ensure that children are prepared to succeed.
· Leverage Volunteer Power. The PTA organizes hard-working and dedicated volunteers. Whether you’ve got two hours a week or an hour every few months, come lend a hand!
· Watch Yourself Grow. By volunteering with the PTA, you put your skills and hobbies to use for a noble cause—your child and all children in our community.
· Be a Role Model. By becoming a PTA member, you demonstrate to your child the importance you place on education.
Annual membership is just $10 a person. You can become a member for less than 3 cents a day and in doing so you will join more than 5 million other people who share your interest in issues affecting children. Everyone—parents, educators, students and other citizens active in their schools and communities—are invited to join our not-for-profit organization. Thank you for your support.
We hold only five meetings a year. You are encouraged but not required to attend.
